I work at a movie theater every tuesday as sort of a hobby. I run the projectors and manage the theater. I decided that while I was there this tuesday I would watch "The Passion of The Christ". So I did just to see what all the hype was about. When it was over I went up into the projection booth and cryed for like 10 minutes. I went into the movie thinking that it would'nt affect me at all. Boy was I wrong. I can't really explain why it affected me so much. I mean not like I will be out preaching the word of god now but it affected me. I have been going to church all of my life and know all there is to know about the crucifiction of Jesus but for some reason this film put it in a whole new light. It really makes you see the reality of ot all. My dad is a minister and he liked the movie as well. He told me he thought it was a very good interpretation of the bible. he is also a certified movie buff so he thought it was very well done. You have to understand my dad. he does'nt come off as some holy roller. He is one of the coolest guys I know. Smart beyond imagination. He has five degrees one of which is a masters in film production and direction from NYU film school as well as a doctorate in Theology. A bachelors in art education from yale and the list goes on and on. I tend to agree with him on this film. All I can say about it when people ask me "how was it" I tell them "it was great but horrible at the same time". Very emotional and graphic. There were three nuns watching it when I saw it so I asked them what they thought and they said "it was as terrible as we could have ever imagined the crucifiction being". Now I can't say that it changed me or my beliefs in God and religion but it did make me think a whole hell of a lot.
