Beer fest!

So sunday we went to a beer fest at Waterloo Village.

It was so much fun. It was in a large feild and there were about 25 different micro breweries set up in a huge circle. They gave you tasting glasses and you just walked around and tasted all the different beers. I was in heaven. I mean me brewing my own beer and stuff. I love beer. I truly love it. Maybe that makes me sound like some white trash stupid person but who cares. maybe I am. I don't drink any other alcoholic beverage. Sure I might have the occasional glass of red wine on a special event but thats it. I don't drink any hard booze, just beer. I love the taste. I truly love the taste. I think it has to do with the whole process of brewing. When you see and smell and taste all of the ingredients in their purest form, its kind of amazing that all of those things make beer. But anyways.... it was a great time. The weather was absolutely perfect and the people where friendly and happy. always a plus when drinking is involved. It was also my 6th wedding anniversary so we left the kids with the in-laws and went as the two of us. We had a great time together. I tried some really tasty brews. One of the best was from a brew pub who's name escapes me at the moment but the name of the beer was called Hop Hazzard. It was very hoopy and semi bitter and totaly delicious. I had a few different stouts that were great. One was from the Tun Tavern in Philly. The Tun Tavern is supposedly the tavern where Benjamin Franklin coined the phrase, "Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy". The stout was called Leather neck Stout. Very tasty. Nothing quite like a fresh stout on tap. Flying Fish Brewering Company had some really tasty brews as well. We got pretty tuned up after a few times around the place and then went back to our house with a load of friends and drank some more and cooked some london broil and burgers on the ole Weber. So all in all it was a really fun day. Now back to reality. This working five days a week thing is really getting to be a drag. Come On New Jersey Lottery!. It's 220 million tonight.

Next weekend me and a buddy of mine are going to craft our own brew. Probably an I.P.A (India Pale Ale) or an amber lager. Not really sure yet. I will take pictures of the whole process from boiling wort to bottle and post them on my yahoo pictures page so all can see. It should be fun. Use the link named pictures.

Thats it for now. VIVA LA BEER!!!!!

Later,ROB
