Anthem

Tomorrow we(the band) sing the national anthem at Shae Stadium for the New York Mets vs. The Florida Marlins game. I can't wait. It's a whole day of fun stuff. We have to get there early for a sound check so we're on the feild when the players are taking batting and feilding practice. We sort of get to mingle among the players. It's pretty fun. And if that wasn't fun enough we get to perform the national anthem in front of thousands of people. Then we grab a few beers and a sausage and pepper sandwich and go watch the game. They give us loge seats that are directly behind home plate and one level up. Lots of foul balls go up there. So today I am a nobody at an extermely large paint company and tomorrow I'll be cheered on by thousands of people and the new york mets and the marlins. Then reality sets back in on wednesday when I am a nobody at said paint company again. Life is really truly full of ups and downs. Tomorrow is definetly an up though. I'll take some pics and post them on my photo page. The last time we did it we ran into Gary "Baba booey" Del Abate from the Howard Stern show. We were on the Stern show in the early 90's to do a song parody about Sinead Oconnor. Remember when she didn't want the national anthem played before her shows. Well Howard freaked about it and wrote a parody of the Star Spangled Banner called The Bald Headed Banana. He announced on the air that he would like an accapella group from the area to come in and sing it. We called and he asked us to do it. It was really funny and we had a blast. And regardless of what you think of Howard on the air, he is a really cool down to earth guy off the air. He totally hung out with us and even had us on his then "Channel Nine"(as it's refered to) television show. Any way when we saw baba booey at the mets game last time he remembered us and we had a nice conversation. He is a really down to earth guy as well. Unfortunetly they don't air the star spangeld banner on TV so you can't see us but I will provide pics when I get them back. Yeah I still own a 35 mm camera. It's a good one though.

In other news: The weekend was chock full of rest. Much needed rest I might add. I have been so fucking busy lately but this weekend I had nothing going on so thats what I did. absolutely nothing. It was nice. I got to watch the close out of the olympics in peace.

And I found out that my buddy just got back together with his estranged wife. Not real happy about that. I hope he knows what he's doing. She really fucked him over and he was really fucked up about it. He had just climbed over that last big hill and was starting to get on with his life and she sucked him back in again. I hope she doesn't hurt him again. This is a story for another time.

Anyway, Wish me luck.

Later,ROB
