Thurs.
What a crappy day thursday is. I mean it serves no purpose. Wednesday is hump day and friday is the last working day of the week. But thursday is just there to make you wait for friday. On wednesday you're like "cool...I made it through half of the week". Then you have to sit through fucking thursday to get to Friday. 6:30am thursday is like the second worst time of the week for me second only to 11:30pm sunday night. That's when the weekend is officially over and I have to go to bed knowing that I have to wake up and go to work the next day. Thursday used to hold a warm place in my heart. It used to be Dollar long neck night at my local pub but they stopped doing that a few years ago. Now I have nothing to look forward to on Thursday. Side note: Did you ever wonder that no matter how cheap the drinks are, say for instance on dollar long neck night, that you still end up dropping like 75 bucks. One of lifes great mysteries.
Any way, enough rambling about thursday and onto other rambling. Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. We played on wednesday night at the local bar and it was a blast. The place was pretty full and the people were dancing and having a good time. Not the most crowded it's been since we've been playing there but still pretty full. As soon as we got done and packed up the family and I headed up to maine. we got on the road at about 3:00am and arrived at 8:45am. Not a bad trip. We went to my folks and so did my sister and her family. They live in minneapolis so we don't see them that often. We had a blast together. I got sick on Saturday with a 24 hour thing that my kids and my wife had just a few days before so that wasn't very fun but I felt much better the next day. The wife and I even got to go out without any kids for the first time in a long time. we went to downtown Potland Maine to a great restuarant called
DiMillos and had the obligitory lobster dinner. The wife had what is called the lazy lobster. It's the lobster meat lying in a dish of seasoned butter. No work involved. I had the deep fired cajun lobster tails. Yeah I know it sounds like a waste of some good lobster tails but believe me when I tell you that they taste fucking great. When we finished dinner we walked around portland for a while and stopped off at
Gritty McDuffs for a few pints. Truly one of the best Brew pubs I have ever been to. Nice atmoshere, good music, very inexpensive and great fucking beer. You can't beat that place. All the beer is brewed on the premises. We then went back to my folks and watched a movie in my Dads kick ass home theater. It was a fun night.
So back to work once again. we didn't come home from Maine until Tuesday so I have a short week. It still feels long though.
Hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday.
later,ROB
