I Got Out!!!
I actually got to go out this weekend. I went to a
bar to see my friends
band. We couldn't get a baby sitter so my wife watched the kids. I felt bad that she didn't get to go but she said she was tired anyway. I went with a bunch of my buddies and their wives so I was the only guy there by himself. It was a lot of fun though. It kind of brought back memories of being single again. Not sure I ever liked the whole bar scene but it was fun. I have always had a different view of the bar scene. We used to play at a lot of bars so the only time I went to one was when my band played there. So meeting people was easy. You already have an instant conversation lined up. It kind of used to go like this,
Me:Hi, Having a good time?
Her: Yeah.....Hey you're the lead singer.....wow you guys are great.
Me: Aw thanks, thats nice of you to say. Can I buy you a drink?
Her: Sure....here, come sit by me.
and that was it. An instant conversation is born. What is said after that point varries. Sometimes it would end up being nothing but other times it would end up being a great night. I kind of miss those days. I ended up with mixed feelings after going out the other night though. It was fun being out on my own but throughout the night I couldn't help but wonder what my wife was doing at that same moment. I decided that I'm glad I'm married to her because she's the only one that really matters to me anyway. I couldn't imagine being out there looking for someone to connect with because we all know that bars are not the best places to meet people when you're looking for a serious relationship. All though it does happen. Shit, I met my wife at a bar. Granted she was working there and we were playing there but we were introduced through mutual friends. My mother used to always tell me, " you only meet nice girls at church." And I did meet some nice girls at church but they were always just a little too religious for me.
The rest of the weekend was hanging with the kids and my beautiful, glad to be with her, loving, caring wife. ( Just covering my ass incase she reads this.) We had fun together. It was really cold here this weekend so we stayed in and played games and watched movies and made smore's with my sons smore's maker and just enjoyed each others company.
Next weekend is my youngests first birthday party. It's down at the shore at the in-laws house so it should be fun. Can't believe the little guy is one already. People always say that they grow up too fast and those people are totaly right. Anyway I hope everyones weekend was safe and happy.
