What a week!
So I made it back from minneapolis in one peice. No flight delays on the way out or on the way back. It was almost too smooth. I didn't get the usual uneasy feeling that comes with air travel. I feel like I missed something. Anyway, We had a great time. The
restaurant/club that we went to for dinner was just going to be dinner. We were going to go out to a club but they had this amazing salsa band at
Babalu. It was cool. The place was packed for dinner. The food was fucking awesome and the Pacifico's were going down way too easy. Then the band started playing about 10:00pm. By 10:15 everyone who was there eating was now up dancing with the people who had just come to dance and drink at the bar. The dance floor was packed with people. There were a lot of really good dancers out on that dance floor but I didn't care. The wife and I and my mother and sister danced along with them. It was fucking great. If you're ever in Minneapolis I suggest you check this place out.
The reason for the trip was to suprise my sister for her 40th birthday. She was totally suprised. You see I live in New Jersey and my folks live in Maine and my uncle lives in Maryland. We all got to the airport at around the same time so my brother-in-law could pick all of us up at the same time. When we arrived at my sisters my Bro-in-law walk inside like he was getting home from work like he normally would. We waited outside. My folks knocked on the door first and I could hear the suprise in her voice. We waited about five minutes and my wife and I knocked on the door. She was blown away that we were there. And then five minutes later my uncle knocks on the door and she was floored. It was so nice to suprise her. I rarely see her and I miss having her close so it was really great to be able to be there to share that special day in her life.
We went without the kids. My In-Laws came to our house for the weekend and watched them. The wife and I had a great time sort of re-connecting with eachother. My sister's house is pretty big and we stayed downstairs away from everyone so the relations were very passionate and long. God it was nice to just be alone with her for a few days without the kids. But by early sunday morning I was starting to miss them. Those kids are like my best friends. I love them so much. I can't even put it into words how much they mean to me. Well I guess by writing that I just did put it into words.
So right now I am sitting at work(my part time little hobby of a job at the movie theater) wishing I had hit the lottery so I could travel back and forth to see my family whenever I felt like it. I don't know what I'm complaining about. At least I am lucky enough to have a decent job to go to everyday. There are a lot of people in this world who can't say that. I am very thankful for what I have.
Well I think That I have droned on long enough. Hope all is well with everyone.
